What We Do
Hocking College’s record label, Can’t Live Without Records, is designed for Music Business and Music Production majors to come together with artists/musicians within the Hocking College community to create and market music. This label is made to give students a well-rounded experience in numerous aspects of the music industry including (but not limited to): office/personnel, production, and marketing/promotion.
Students interested in the office/personnel aspect may fulfill duties such as: finding talent, writing recording contracts, writing press releases, and gathering and organizing materials and funds for record label mixers. Students that are more interested in the recording process will record the talent at Hocking College’s professional recording facility at Washington Hall along side professors to create the music. The marketing team of students will promote the talent in various ways which may include: writing artists’ biographies, organizing a photo shoot, directing promotional videos, posting the artists' music online, and hosting the record label mixers or press release parties.
